We’re indefinitely camping out in Chicago, IL working on new songs and getting ready for tour. We played a local show here last week with The Alaya Conscious, Beast From Sea, and An Aesthetic Anasthetic. Some photos from the show are in our blog at Damiera.com. Looking ahead, we’ll be more stationary through the holidays - but are planning to tour the full U.S. starting January/February. If any of you have thoughts on where we should play, or who we should play with please leave us a message. Stay warm.
Tour with Fear Before has been a blast this far. We’re finally returning East, and playing some New York shows. Keep checking the TOUR BLOG, we’ve uploaded 4 videos so far and some live photos. See you soon, East Coast!
From Philadelphia to Denver, with two shows in between. Last night we played at It’s A Kling Thing! - a house venue in Akron, OH. We had a blast, and it was possibly one of the most fun shows i’ve ever played. In our company is Jacob Belcher, the tour manager for this tour - an incredible guy that I truly hope you all get to meet. We’re en route to Denver, CO to meet up with Fear Before and I Am The Ocean. We’ve made a new blog for this tour: TOUR BLOG we will be updating it every day with content, photos, and videos. Enjoy ~ Looking forward to see you all.
Today, we happily start tour on a long trek west to meet Fear Before the March of Flames. We are doing two shows during the journey. Tonight we are playing a house show in Akron, OH and tomorrow in Mt. Vernon, IL. Come join us if you can. Tonight’s show is free.
Furthering the “word of mouth” theme seeded deeply in this upcoming tour, we wanted to make available the tour poster in digital, and printable form. If you guys are able to get some of these printed, and dropped off at your local coffee shops, record stores, food shops, skate/bike shops, etc - it’d mean a lot to us. Or, post the digital version on your local blog sites, and message boards and in your myspace/facebook profiles. The fact that people are working as a network to make these shows possible, is already making this tour memorable. Here are the links, and the tour dates. We can’t wait to see it all come together.PRINTABLE POSTER , DIGITAL POSTER

We’re psyched to announce that we’re touring all of September with our label mates Fear Before the March of Flames, and I AM THE OCEAN . We’re touring out to Denver to start the tour with Fear Before in their hometown. We’re specifically excited about this tour because it is aimed at keeping the show costs low, and the ticket prices low. We’ll be visiting a lot of rare areas for a national tour, such as Minot, North Dakota!! So if any of you live off the beaten path, please make the trip to one of these shows and make some memories with us. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
For as much as we travel, using Apple’s iPhone has been a very rewarding tool. For as much praise that Apple deserves, this is a very funny glitch in their new software on the iPhone. Try typing our band name DAMIERA in a text message, or in any of the text fields. Do it VERY slowly. You’ll discover it’s impossible to do without having to backspace an incorrect letter. After the E very carefully try and type the R. It won’t let you. Even try holding your finger there, and slide it back and forth over the R - it goes from T to E. Comical glitch, specific mostly to us (who have to text message this name every single day!). Apple is aware of the problem, and here is a very informative article written specifically about DAMIERA and the problem with trying to type the word out. Mobile Computer Mag.
We had to pull out of our tour with The Gay Blades, due to a number of mechanical problems beyond our control. The biggest of issues being addressed at the moment is our trailer that has since fallen completely apart. Something is to be said for trailers, and I sternly believe that “something” is that they are worthless. Many apologies to those who didn’t get the news in time. More news sooner, not later.
Today we’d like to share a bit of what we’ve been experimenting with for the last week. Due to the rising gas prices, you will most likely see less and less indie bands touring. Sad but true, it’s impossible to fill a gas tank with “gas money” any longer, because everyone is suffering the same things. For this tour, we have combined The Gay Blades and ourselves into our van and trailer, splitting the gas and expenses. Though they’re only 2 guys, this could still work out with even 4 or 5 piece bands. Split it all. Merch person, Tech, TM, whatever you’ve got. Don’t give up on it.
